L293D Motor ShieldSee More
Description:
L293D is a driver, built-in monolithic, high current, 4-channel, high-voltage.
Basically, this means using this chip, you can use DC motors and power supplies of up to 25 Volts, thats some very large motors and the chip can provide a maximum current of 600mA per channel, the L293D chip is also what is known as a type of H-Bridge. The H-bridge is typically an electrical circuit that allows a voltage that must be applied across the terminals of a load in both directions to an output, e.g. motor.
Features:
2 interface for 5V Servo connected to the dedicated high-resolution timer - no jitter!
Can drive 4 DC motors or 2 stepper motors or 2 servo
Up to 4 bi-directional DC motors with individual 8-bit speed selection
Up to 2 stepper motors (single pole or bipolar) with single coil, double coil or stepper interlaced.
4 H-Bridges: per bridge provides (peak current 1.2A) 0.6A with thermal protection, can run motors on 4.5V to 36V DC
Unwind resistors keep motors off while powering on
reset button
2 external terminal power interface, for separate logics/automotive supplies
Tested compatible for Mega, Diecimila & Duemilanove
